Our class just finished “The Giver” by Lois Lowry. In the book Jonas, the protagonist, struggles with emotions and parts of life such as love, pain, caring, and emotions. Our teacher had us write short, powerful speeches that were about one of these aspects. They had to include two positives, two negatives, and one command. Here is one of mine.
Caring is not sympathy. Caring is not just helping someone. Caring is going out of your way, regardless of the circumstances for their benefit. Care from your heart, not just for recognition.
